Anyang Yuhua Machinery supplied canal-lining machines, slope cutters and troweling equipment for concrete canal works in Malawi's Shire Valley, under the World Bank- and AfDB-supported Shire Valley Transformation Programme (2018–2031) bringing about 43,370 ha under irrigation.
Malawi's Shire Valley Transformation Programme (SVTP) is a 14-year Government of Malawi initiative (2018–2031), implemented with support from the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the Global Environment Facility. The programme abstracts water from the Shire River at Kapichira and conveys it by gravity through about 133 km of main canals and secondary canals to bring roughly 43,370 hectares under irrigated agriculture across Chikwawa and Nsanje districts, with later phases extending coverage. Intake works sit near Majete Wildlife Reserve, with fish-pass and environmental safeguards protecting the Shire River ecosystem and nearby Lengwe National Park and Elephant Marsh.
Anyang Yuhua Machinery provided canal-lining machines, slope cutters and troweling equipment used on concrete lining of channel sections within the valley. The equipment helps contractors achieve consistent slab thickness, slope alignment and surface finish under tropical site conditions, supporting the programme's goal of reliable, low-loss irrigation conveyance.
